Sketch 118 for Stamping 411

Top Image: Card Inside
Bottom Image: Card Front

I sat down this morning to create a card for the Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge #SSC118. My mind has been going to Christmas Card creations lately and I have several new sets that have been waiting for me since before my vacation. We had a great vacation by the way. Cool weather, lots of bicycling and relaxing in Yosemite and on the California Coast.
Anyway back to stamping. I wanted to use "Berry Christmas" out of the Holiday Mini Catalog and the new word set "Many Merry Messages". I have not invested in much Designer paper as of yet, so used all card stock and did some background stamping to create the accents for the card. You can really make a lot of your own contrasting papers in this way, and really make them coordinate well with the rest of the card. I am pleased with how this turned out. I also put some white card stock inside (top image), which I usually do when the base of my card is a darker color card stock. I hope you like my contribution to this challenge.
Stamp Sets: Many Merry Messages, Berry Christmas
Inks: Real Red, Old Olive, Crushed Curry
Papers: Real Red, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Whisper White card stock
Accessories: circle cutter, Mistle Toe Old Olive Ribbon Originals, sponges

On-line ordering is always available, and I will try to do a blog entry or two while I am gone. I really need to get a Lap top so I can stay connected, but so far that is not in my future. I hope to see many of you at my next event, World Card Making Day, October 3, 2009.

Mojo Monday Week 102 Challenge

This sketch made me think of the Medallion Stamp once again. I think this is going to be one of my favorite stamps!. I was going for a mainly monochromatic look, with a slight hint of color. It doesn't show up real well on the picture, but the center of the medallion has the Champagne Shimmer paint on it and it gives it a really nice look.

Inks: Sahara Sand, Soft Suede
Papers: Kraft, Ivory Naturals, Soft Suede, and Blush Blossom Cardstock
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, Clear Ice Brads, Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon, Champagne Shimmer Paint, Sponges.
